At this time of year, Egypt's hotels and cruise ships are packed with thousands of visitors eager to see the Great Pyramids or Luxor's famed Valley of the Kings. But a quietly growing eco-tourism movement is beginning to bring smaller groups to more out-of-the-way parts of Egypt, the places package tour operators don't visit.

Forget about having a barbecue especially within 4,015 square miles of the Taj Mahal. Since it began to turn yellow like a set of smokers teeth you have to get final permission from the Supreme Court of India to have a festival there. Justin Solondz a member of Earth Liberation Front (ELF) has been sentenced to three years in an American prison. Mr. Solondz became an activist at Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. While in Washington he protested against the World Trade Organization. Solondz along with his girlfriend participated in a film documenting the protection of old growth forests.

It is just amazing that we don't have dedicated courts for environmental crimes. The prosecution delays point out that this is something necessary and within our scope to remedy. One thing in the prosecutions favor is a sharp decrease in acquittals of those who do make it through the courts.
